You are invited to participate in a research study conducted by Dr Kay Fielden and Dr Vesna Zdravkovic at ATMC. The purpose of this study is to gather information about factors that affect classroom behaviour to gather knowledge and perceptions about what constitutes exemplary classroom behaviour. This is a multi-stakeholder study to obtain the perceptions from everyone at ATMC about what the issues are affecting classroom behaviour. Understanding what these factors are will lead to improved classroom behaviour, a common approach to managing classroom behaviour, and add to the international pool of knowledge about classroom behaviour for international students.
If you agree to participate in this study, you will be asked to complete an online survey that will take approximately 5-10 minutes. The survey will include questions about your demographics, your experiences in the classroom and your perceptions of what constitutes good classroom behaviour,
Potential Risks and Discomforts: There are no known risks associated with participating in this study beyond those of everyday life. However, some questions may be of a sensitive nature and may cause minor discomfort. You may skip any questions that you do not wish to answer or discontinue the survey at any time without any consequences.
Potential Benefits: There are no direct benefits to you for participating in this study. However, your responses may help improve the understanding of classroom behaviour, thus improving learning in class time.
Confidentiality: All information collected in this study will be kept confidential to the extent permitted by law. Your responses will be anonymous, and no identifying information will be collected. Data will be stored securely and only accessible to the research team.
Voluntary Participation: Your participation in this study is entirely voluntary. You may choose not to participate or to withdraw at any time without penalty or loss of benefits to which you are otherwise entitled. Questions: If you have any questions about this study or your participation, please feel free to contact Kay Fielden at kay@atmc.ac.nz.
Consent: By proceeding with the survey, you indicate that you have read and understood the information provided above, and that you consent to participate in this research study. Thank you for considering participation in this study.
